Keion Jackson is a 3x Emmy-nominated TV writer, author, and playwright. He writes across various mediums and genres for audiences of all ages.
Keion is a Co-Executive Producer and the Senior Story Editor of the animated Netflix series Dee and Friends in Oz.
He’s been the Story Editor on three series, including Netflix’s Karma’s World, created by Chris “Ludacris” Bridges — whichreceived an NAACP Image Award nomination for Outstanding Children’s Program.
Keion has also written for Nickelodeon, Sesame Workshop, Amazon Prime, Scholastic Entertainment, 9 Story Media, PBS and more. In addition, he created and developed an animated action-comedy series calledEarly Birds. Keion also created and developed an original series for Disney Television Animation.
Keion is a playwright. His heartfelt Hurricane Katrina-inspired stage play Gumbo House was workshopped and performed Off-Broadway.
Additionally, his film screenplays have been recognized at film festivals across the country. His uplifting mental health dramedy was an Official Selection of The New York City Independent Film Festival.
Prior to his career in TV, Keion was a Senior Creative Writer at Hallmark Cards. He also wrote for Mahogany, Hallmark’s African-American card line. He worked as a Cultural Liaison — studying societal trends and providing cultural context to create content that serviced the emotional needs of African-American consumers.
Keion was born and raised in Louisiana. He is very proud of where he comes from. In March of 2024, Keion’s hometown of Port Allen, Louisiana presented him with a key to the city.
Keion Jackson is a graduate of Clark Atlanta University. He has a degree in Mass Media Arts, with a concentration in Television and Film Production.
